United States House Elections Primer Home Page

Over the next month, as we prepare for the 2020 elections, Yesh Ginsburg and Steen Kirby will give a general overview of all 435 United States House of Representatives races. This is a basic overview to introduce you to the major candidates. The main purpose of this is not to predict who will win, though of course noting the favorite is central to understanding each race.

This page will serve as an easy database to find every article. For most states, all the races will be covered in a single article. However, due to the fact that some states have numerous Representatives, we will split those up. California, for example, will take six articles to go through its 53 races.

Not every race has two candidates, and some have more than two. However, it’s always good to get a very basic introduction to each candidate, even the shoo-ins. We will not list every single third-party or independent candidate, but we will do our best to introduce those with serious campaigns.

Not all primers have been published yet. Several states have not yet held their primaries for their House and/or Senate elections. We will update this list with the live links as each article is published.
