The Indiana Pacers took a significant step in strengthening their ties with Lucas Oil, an Indianapolis-based company, by announcing a multiyear jersey patch deal. This collaboration will make its debut at the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas. The deal, which was negotiated internally, marks a new chapter in the Pacers’ ongoing relationship with Lucas Oil.
Official Oil Partner and Branding Opportunities
In addition to the jersey patch, Lucas Oil will now hold the title of “Official Oil Partner” of the Pacers. This partnership includes several branding opportunities:
- Branding on practice jerseys
- International marketing rights
- Group player rights
- In-venue signage and visibility at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Community and Charitable Initiatives
The partnership isn’t just about business; it also focuses on community engagement. Lucas Oil will continue its involvement with the Pacer Foundation’s community initiatives. This includes premium hospitality experiences and efforts to promote basketball throughout Indiana.
A noteworthy aspect of this deal is the charitable component. A portion of the proceeds from every Pacers jersey sold will be donated to the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis. This contribution will support essential care and services for children and families across Indiana.
Transition from Spokenote
Lucas Oil takes over from Spokenote as the Pacers’ patch partner. Previously, Lucas Oil had been involved as the title sponsor of Lucas Oil Family Nights, a role that will continue under the new agreement.
In my view, this partnership is a win-win for both the Pacers and Lucas Oil. It not only enhances the team’s branding and marketing efforts but also reinforces their commitment to community service. The charitable aspect of the deal, benefiting the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, reflects a thoughtful approach to corporate responsibility. This collaboration is a testament to how sports teams can leverage partnerships to create positive impacts both on and off the court.
